Who We Are
HR Decisions Ltd. began operations in 1978. The majority of the staff at HR Decisions are PhD-level psychologists with specialized and advanced training and expertise in human assessment,HR systems, employee selection and development, and succession planning in organizations.
The company's practices are governed by the code of ethics of the College of Psychologists of
British Columbia and by the assessment standards and guidelines of the Canadian and American
Psychological Associations. In addition to our core staff, HR Decisions has a complement of
approximately 10 PhD-level psychologists who work with us on a contract basis.
The core personnel at HR Decisions Ltd. are:
A. Ralph Hakstian, PhD, Director
Dr. Hakstian is an internationally-known psychometrician and personnel
psychologist. He has published approximately 100 articles in the scientific
literature on measurement and the assessment of human potential. As a Professor
of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Hakstian established
the Industrial/Organizational Psychology graduate program at UBC.
Lorette K. Woolsey, PhD, Director
Dr. Woolsey is a well-known and widely-published psychologist with many years of
experience in applied measurement and assessment work. Formerly on faculty at
the University of British Columbia, Dr. Woolsey has extensive experience with
selection and personnel-development initiatives, and has served on national and
provincial government task forces.
Linda S. Scratchley, PhD, R. Psych., Senior Psychologist
Dr. Scratchley is an experienced industrial/organizational psychologist. In addition, she has published a number of articles in the scientific literature on assessment and HR-related topics ranging from the development of personnel-selection systems to new conceptualizations of creative management behavior. Dr. Scratchley has taught courses in measurement at the University of British Columbia and works one-on-one with HR Decisions' clients.
Greg Dixon, BA (English Honours), DT (Expert Systems), Director Of Technical Operations
Mr. Dixon is an experienced systems designer and software developer. Mr. Dixon's contributions to HR Decisions' operations are in the area of software design and web-enablement. Mr. Dixon's expertise and creative technological innovations have enabled HR Decisions to move to advanced web-based applications.
Fiona Suteja, BA (Psychology), Psychometrist
Ms. Suteja received her B.A. degree in Psychology at the University of British Columbia. In addition to specialized training in measurement and assessment, Ms. Suteja has experience in the design and execution of research studies in the behavioral sciences, and has administered and scored assessments of many thousands of job applicants and employees. She has had a number of years of experience in consulting with HR professionals, and organizes and manages all HR Decisions operations.
